- The Multifunctional Materials Team, Warfighter Science, Technology and Research Directorate at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center, Natick, MA has a need to identify solutions for camouflage patterned loop (only ) and manufacturability of the patterned loop that can conform to current ACU shade and near infrared requirements (NIR). The government is conducting a market investigation seeking samples of camouflage loop material in the ACU pattern (Desert Sand 500, Urban Gray 501, and Foliage Green 502). Possible solutions are to make the woven loop material camouflage patterned; either through traditional printing techniques or through the use of solution dyed yarns. When submitting samples, offers are cautioned that their products (all materials and manufacturing) must co mply with Berry Amendment Restrictions (see DFARS 252.225-7012). Products shall meet the following critical performance requirements: (1) Conform to current IR spectral performance requirements for Universal camouflage, (2) Conform to current visual colo r requirements for Universal camouflage, (3) Conform to current physical performance requirements. Interested firms are requested to submit information on their product within thirty (30) days following the publication of this synopsis. Companies are also encouraged to submit samples for evaluation. Any information/samples submitted will not be returned, and no pa yment will be made by the government for such samples.
