- Amendment 1: Since the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items has expired for the time being, this procurement will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP) instead of a Request for Quotations (RFQ). This notice and subsequent notices will also be listed under solicitation number HSCG80-08-R-C29072. The United States Coast Guard, Maintenance Logistics Command Atlantic intends to issue a firm fixed price requirements contract for the purchase of 16-18 foot inflatable ice rescue boats to be used in the Great Lakes and New England regions of the United States. The contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 15, Requests for Proposals. The period of performance will be one base period and two option periods. The Request for Proposals will be issued on or about January 24, 2008 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) web site at http://www.eps.gov. The RFP solcitation number is HSCG80-08-R-C29072; hard copies of the RFP will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FedBizOpps site for the RFP release and all subsequent amendments if there are any. The RFP will be issued as a 100% set aside for Small Business Concerns. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 336612, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition for inflatable ice rescue boats will include one base year and two one year option years. The first six (6) hulls will be operated and evaluated to determine if they meet the Coast Guards needs. If it is determined that the first six meet the Coast Guards needs, the Coast Guard will consider ordering up to 54 additional boats.
