Description: It is the Government's intent to award on a sole source basis a requirement for repair to the Compressor for a quantity of one (1) each NSN: 2840-01-345-2584, P/N: 7-211710013-19. Authority cited: Statutory authority permitting other that full and op en competition for this requirement is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by paragraph 6.302-1 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) entitled- Only one source or a limited number of responsible sources and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The existing unique design capability, engineering skills and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source required acquisition of the parts required from the approved source only. The approved source retains the necessary data, manufacturing knowledge, and or technical data that are not economically available to the government. This acquisition will be awarded to McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Co. Inc. After the TT&E is completed the Contractor, if authorized, will perform the Rep air and Rebuild (R&R) effort. All approved, responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency.
