Description
This is a request for information only, as part of a market research study. There is no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst is seeking sources that may be capable of providing sustaining engineering support services for the MSU-200NAV, A/U47A-5 Air Start Units. The MSU-200 is a mobile air start unit that is trailer mounted for land-based and tractor mounted for ship-board operations (each CV/CVN has one trailer mounted MSU supporting fan tail, engine test cell). The MSU-200NAV provides pneumatic power for both main engine start and maintenance actions. The total sustainment quantity is for 389 units to begin in October 2008. The Contractor shall be responsible to provide repair/replacement of failed components, Configuration Management (CM) to include Engineering Change Proposal (ECP?s), changes to existing Government Furnished Information (GFI) and maintain a spares inventory to achieve Operational Availability of 95% based upon 25 hours of unit usage per year. Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems of San Diego, CA is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the MSU-200NAV and Rheinmetall Landsysteme of Kiel Germany is a major subcontractor, supplying 95% of the parts necessary to manufacture the MSU-200NAV. The Government is looking for potential sources for this requirement.
