Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) has a requirement for conference support for a roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine. The Roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine will provide a convening mechanism for interested parties from the academic, industrial, consumer, and federal research perspectives to meet and discuss sensitive and difficult issues of mutual interest in a neutral setting. The purpose is to exchange scientific information and discussion across sectors and institutions, and to illuminate issues, not resolve them. Specific agenda topics will be determined by the Roundtable membership, but will focus on areas such as: enhancing environmental health in health care; clinical and environmental health research strategies; susceptible populations; and workforce and health professional education. The Roundtable will not provide advice or recommendations on any specific issue or policy pending before any government agency; summary reports will result from the conferences, but will not contain recommendations. The U.S. EPA intends on soliciting the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), Institute of Medicine (IOM) 500 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 as the sole candidate pursuant to FAR 6.302-1"Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". The NAS IOM has been the lead in planning for the roundtable of discussions since 2000. NAS IOM has the unique ability to convene committees of experts from academia, industrial, consumer, and federal perspectives to meet and discuss sensitive and difficult issues of mutual interest in a neutral setting. NAICS Code 541611 applies with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other sources(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation (RFP) is available. Consequently, any response failing to provide the aforementioned data and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be ignored. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written qualification statements, fully explaining their capability no later than 15 days after the date of this publication. Submit response to the U.S. EPA, Attn: John Southerland Jr (MC-E105-02), RTP Procurement Operations Division, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711.
