- Description
- Contractor shall, as an independent organization and not as an agent of the Government, furnish the necessary management and personnel for the efficient performance of duties commonly termed animal care services in support of the operation of the Chamblee Animal Care Facility, Chamblee, Georgia, Fort Collins Animal Care Facility, Fort Collins, Colorado, Lawrenceville Animal Care Facility, Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Roybal Animal Care Facility, Atlanta, Georgia. The services provided shall include routine animal care including, but not limited to, animal health surveillance by observation, housing, environmental enrichment, feeding and watering, hygiene, animal handling and restraint (including non-human primates and other exotic species), and or sanitation and cleaning of the animal facilities, caging and equipment. Services will also include, but are not limited to, care and maintenance of the insectary and glassware procession operation and maintenance. Animal care services shall be performed in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) established by Centers for Disease Control and the Statement of Work (SOW) included in the solicitation and eventual contract. A firm-fixed price type contract for the base year and four option years is anticipated, not to exceed sixty (60) months. RFP 2008-N-09689 will be available on or about November 30, 2007. Full and open competition will be used in soliciting offers for this requirement. This requirement is not set-aside for small business. The NAICS Code is 541940. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The scheduled solicitation due date will be approximately thirty (30) days after the posting of the solicitation. The solicitation will be made available through the internet at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will also be made at the same website.
