Description
FISC, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Maritime Industrial Branch, Hampton Roads Division, has a service requirement for contractor to provide equipment and personnel to transport eight (8) each heavy items from one location in the shipyard to another location within the shipyard. Complete specifications will be provided with the solicitation. Award will be firm-fixed priced in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13 with the format in FAR Subpart 12.5. The applicable NAICS classification is 339000 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The request for quote number is N00189-08-T-N038. The closing date for submission of quotes will be February 13, 2008. No telephone requests or inquiries will be accepted. Requests for copies shall be submitted via email to norma.rogers@navy.mil . Requests may also be express mailed to FISC Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Maritime Industrial Branch, Norma Rogers, Code 531.3A, Bldg. 1500, 2nd Floor, Portsmouth, VA 2370 9-5000. An informational conference for all prospective offerors will be held at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Bldg. 1500, 2nd Floor, Code 530 conference room at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Questions will be answered relative to this requirement at that time. A site-visit will be conducted at the conclusion of the conference. Offerors are urged and expected to examine the job site environment where the service shall be rendered. All prospective offerors are urged to attend this meeting and site visit. In order to make this conference as productive as possible, offerors are requested to submit any questions they may have in writing to the Contracting Officer. The offeror shall also provide, in writing, information applicable to the company official(s) who will attend the conference and site visit. This information shall include Full Name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, and Company Position or title. All correspondence relative to the above shall be faxed to NNSY, Code 531.3A, Norma Rogers @ 757-396-8368 or transmitted via e-mail to norma.rogers@navy.mil not later than 10:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Failure of a prospective offeror to submit any questions or attend the conference and site visit shall be construed to mean that the offeror fully understands all requirements of this solicitation. Prospective offerors are advised that the informational conference will be held solely for the purpose of explaining the specification and the terms and conditions of this solicitation. Unless this solicitation is amended in writing, it will remain unchanged. If an amendment is issued, normal procedures relating to the acknowledgement and receipt of any such amendment shall be applicable. In no event will failure to attend the informational conference constitute grounds for claim after award.
