Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS) has a requirement for GP-26 (General Purpose?26 km) Aerological Sounding Balloons for the NWS upper air network. Solicitation DG133W-08-RP-0060 will be issued on or about February 18, 2008 and will close on or about March 20, 2008. Any offeror whose balloons have not passed NWS testing will be required to submit balloon samples with its offer in respose to this solicitation. The Government may make more than one award from the solicitation if beneficial to the Government. The envisioned contract(s) will be on an indefinite quantity basis and will be for an ordering period of 18 months. The combined minimum quantity of GP-26 balloons to be acquired under all contracts awarded is 24,000 balloons, and the combined maximum quantity of GP-26 balloons to be acquired under all contracts awarded is 160,000 balloons. Deliveries will commence within three months after award. The Government expects that the combined monthly quantities that it will order under all contracts for delivery during the first three months of deliveries will be 7,000 balloons per month.
