- Description
- Objective Gateway will mitigate interoperability shortfalls in the ability to conduct missions digitally or by voice and to improve net-centric communications. The goal is the interconnection of homogeneous and heterogeneous voice and data networks at the tactical edge and within the Global Information Grid (GIG) for the purpose of exchanging tactical battlespace information. The USAF plans to conduct the Objective Gateway (OG) Increment 2 (Inc 2) acquisition in two phases: Risk Reduction and System Development and Demonstration. The OG Increment 2 risk reduction phase will include delivering and testing an open OG core reference system architecture (CRSA); addressing technology risk and readiness through analysis, modeling and simulation, and prototyping; and developing and prototyping OG core system modules for the OG system. An RFP for OG architecture risk reduction is anticipated to be released in early 2008. This is the same information that was previously poste d on the Objective Gateway Increment 2 Risk Reduction HERBB page with a solicitation number of TBD.
