Description
This is to correct the maximum weapon length from 35.25 inches to 35.95 inches. The complete corrected description is listed as follows. TACOM LCMC at RI is seeking companies with experience in semi-automatic 5.56mm rifle manufacturing: corpo rate knowledge, technical expertise, facilities, and manufacturing equipment. The government is seeking to test and potentially qualify a Commercial off the Shelf, Non-Developmental Item a collapsible stock conversion kit for US Army 5.56mm M16 Rifle. The conversion kit must be capable of being employed in a variety of conditions and perform functions typical of infantry units. The collapsible stock conversion kit must meet or exceed the following requirements: 1. May NOT degrade 5.56mm M16 Rifle reliabili ty, 2. Unique conversion kit that allows soldiers to effectively, confidently, and competently operate the M16 Rifle while wearing body armor and maintaining marksmanship principles, 3. No less than three position stock with sling attachment points, 4. Must include all hardware necessary to convert standard 5.56mm M16 Rifle stock, i.e. extension tube, buffer assembly, action spring, etc, 5. Maximum weapon length of 35.95 inches in collapsed position, with a stock similar or equivalent to 5.56mm M4 Carb ine stock. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty pages describing product technical capabilities, design details and operational characteristics, and production capability to include monthly sustainable production rate. All responses to this notice are due no later than 28 Feb 2008 and shall be submitted to TACOM LCMC at RI, ATTN: AMSTA-LC-WSCC/Teresa Stottlemyre, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED - In Addition, provide the fo llowing basic information: Contractor name and address; point of contact with telephone number and email address; size of business; and country represented.
