Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is developing a centralized database for the storage and retrieval of algal, fish, invertebrate, and habitat data collected to support ecological studies conducted by the Water Resources Discipline (WRD). The USGS is requesting comments/responses that (1) indicate whether the proposed data-content standards can be met, and if not, what changes would be necessary, (2) whether one or more of the proposed data-transmission approaches are feasible, and (3) what additions or changes would improve the proposed data-content standards and data-transmission approaches. The USGS requests that interested vendors provide a written response providing the information requested in the Request for Information (RFI) which is located at http://www.usgs.gov/contracts/docs/WTAX/wtaxndx.html. All comments/responses will be considered by the database design team. All respondents shall submit their comments/responses via email to Karen Phillips, Contract Specialist, at kphillip@usgs.gov by 2:00 p.m., EDT, March 14, 2008.
