Description
In accordance with FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation, Naval Inventory Control Point - Mechanicsburg, intends to solicit and procure the Panasonic Toughbooks, accessories, associated asset handling / tracking, integration and warranty support services via a Firm-Fixed Price, indefinite delivery - indefinite quantity (ID-IQ) contract; discussions are not anticipated. The total term of the contract is comprised of a 180-day ordering period. The minimum dollar amount the government is required to order under the total term of the contract will be $1,000,000.00, in any configuration ? including accessories and OCUNUS shipping costs. The maximum dollar amount the government may order under the total term of the contract will be approximately $7,000,000.00. Said hardware and services are to be purchased for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Management Activity (PMA); shipment will be to CONUS and OCONUS locations. In accordance with statutory authority, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), this is a specific brand name procurement as defined in FAR 6.302-1(c); no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. The Navy Portable Electronic Maintenance Aids (PEMA) laptop computers must be Panasonic Toughbooks. At inception of the PEMA initiative, commercial market products were evaluated and the Panasonic Toughbook was selected because it was the only product that met all the rugged environmental conditions. The Navy/Marine Corps has since standardized on the Panasonic as the deployed laptop for the F/A-18, H-60, VH-71, and C-130J Weapons Systems. The current requirement will be to support these Systems and to outfit Navy/Marine Corps troops forward deployed in Iraq/Afghanistan to maintain equipment operation. This is a HUBZONE small business set-aside. Only HUBZONE small business vendors will be considered. The solicitation will be issued on, or about, 2/15/08.
