- Description
- The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Geophysical Fluid Dynamic Lab, Princeton, NJ is issuing an intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with Eaton Electrical, Inc, of Raleigh for Annual Service Agreement for UPS System. Service to include: standard maintenance coverage, technical support, all freight charges paid by vendor, and on-site service. Maintenance is need for two Best brand, FD10KVA (model) units and two Best Brand, ME3.1KVA (model) units. Routine preventative maintenance shall occur once annually and emergency service shall occur as necessary. Parts and labor shall be included in this entire maintenance agreement, both routine and emergency service and for the full term of this contract, base year and each of the four option years, and shall include full battery replacement, as necessary, at no additional cost to the government. The period of performance is from February 11, 2008 to February 10, 2009 with four (1) year option periods. The proposed contractor, Eaton Electrical, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer. Eaton Electrical, Inc. is the only provider of factory supported, factory trained, factory authorized, and factory certified service for this critical UPS equipment. Eaton technicians are solely knowledgeable of the proprietary software. All diagnostics are proprietary. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1). The NAICS Code is 335999. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302(c)(1). Eaton Electrical, Inc. is the only known source capable of providing the service due to the proprietary equipment being utilized at NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamic Lab.
