- Description
- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking to identify certified HUB Zone businesses that are interested in and capable of the Huron Island Pier Replacement project located at the Huron Islands Wilderness Area, Huron Island, Michigan. Project consists of the removal of an existing 65 foot long by eight foot wide boat dock pier and construction of a new 65 foot long by eight foot wide, steel sheetpile boat dock pier filled with rock and grout. Work includes mobilization, demobilization, site preparation, cofferdam construction, dredging, demolition and removal of the existing structure, debris disposal, excavation, falsework construction, installing steel sheeting and whalers, backfilling and grouting fill material, all reinforced concrete work and installation of miscellaneous metal mooring attachments necessary to construct the project. All required permits, bonds, and similar items are to be included in this item. Estimated price range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Class System (NAICS) code is 237990. The small business size standard is $31.0 million. This site is quite remote and access is by boat only. It is intended that all facilities required for this project will be located on floating plant provided by the Contractor. At the present time, this acquisition is expected to be issued as a Certified HUB Zone business set-aside. If your firm is HUB Zone certified in accordance with FAR 19.1305, and has an interest in this project, please respond by e-mail to Richard_Hillard@fws.gov or by fax at (612) 713-5151. In the response, please include the following: (a) A positive statement of your interest in this construction project. (b) Evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, and dollar amounts, and customer points of contact and telephone numbers. (c) At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by February 15, 2008. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The Government is no requestingt technical or management proposals and no contract will be awarded as a result of this Sources Sought notice. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. If a solicitation is later released, it will be posted in FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov). It is the potential business concerns responsibility to monitor this website for the release of any synopsis or solicitation. The requested information is due no later than 2:30PM Central time on February 15, 2008.
