Description
Posting (Brief Abstract): The following serves as an update to the FAA's public announcement dated 1/10/08 for Runway Status Lights (RWSL) system procurement. The specific objectives of this public announcement are as follows: ??? To provide the following documents relevant to the RWSL system: o Draft FAA RWSL Statement of Work, v.1, dated 1/31/08. o Draft FAA Interface Control Document (ICD), RWSL Processor to Field Lighting System (FLS) v0.4, dated 1/25/08 herein attached. o Draft FAA National Airspace System (NAS) Subsystem Level Specification for the RWSL Field Lighting System (FLS), v0.7 dated 1/30/08. o Draft FAA National Airspace System (NAS) Subsystem Level Specification for the RWSL Processor, v0.5 dated 1/30/08. o The FAA is hereby making available to interested industry participants the RWSL Processor prototype source code acquired by the FAA as part of the RWSL prototype development and fielding at DFW. The RWSL Processor prototype source code is defined as the prototype RWSL processor application source code that is installed at DFW and is functioning in a DEMONSTRATION MODE. The FAA is furnishing this data FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The data is being furnished in order to: share FAAs insight of RWSL software development, facilitate industry understanding of FAAs efforts in this area, and enable industry to gain applicable knowledge of RWSL software operational requirements. The data hereby furnished by the FAA DOES NOT have any express or implied warranties associated with it or its use. The FAA is NEITHER endorsing NOR recommending the use of this data for the purpose of developing the necessary software and algorithm required as part of the anticipated software development and integration requirements of RWSL. The FAA anticipates that the sharing of this information will merely result in enhancing industry capability to address the RWSL requirements defined in the forthcoming SIR/RFO." ??? To solicit industry feedback on the aforementioned documents. Specifically, the FAA is interested in questions, comments, clarifications, or ambiguities arising from industry review of said documents. The FAA considers this feedback useful as potential refinements to the data that can be incorporated in the forthcoming RWSL SIR/RFO. Industry feedback is hereby requested via EMAIL ONLY to be forwarded to the addressee below by February 14, 2008 to enable the FAA RWSL PMO sufficient time to review same prior to SIR/RFO release.
