Description
1. The Battlefield Air Operations Kit (BAO Kit) equipment suite includes tactical radios, computers, portable electrical power, situational awareness software, small/micro unmanned aerial vehicles and laser range finders and target designators. Future equipment additions will include tactical headsets and head-mounted displays. Specifically, the BAO Kit contains the following suite of equipment: Harris PRC-152 Handheld Radio Harris PRC-117F Manpack Radio Panasonic CF-19 Laptop Rechargeable electrical power system Unique Mission Software applications 2. In answer to this tasking, the offeror needs to provide the following: a. Provide a two page analysis of the current architecture in use to allow connectivity between the radios and the laptop with specific comments on possible chokepoints inhibiting timely flow of voice and data communications. b. Provide recommendations to reduce the number/types of cables required between equipment items, IP implementation, migrating to newer radios offering higher bandwidth, migrating to more efficient computing devices, and/or streamlining software applications to further reduce communications timelines. c. Propose the manhours and labor categories required to accomplish the above task in as expeditious and efficient a manner as possible. 3. Two (2) paper copies should be submitted as set forth in paragraph 4 along with the other information requested in the solicitation dated 31 January 2008. Paper copies must be clearly labeled ?Proprietary/Competition Sensitive Information? on the cover sheets and, in close proximity to this type of information, on each applicable page. Proprietary/Competition sensitive information will be protected from disclosure. E-mail copies of the paper submittal will be accepted. 4. Responses shall be received no later than 15 February 2008.
