- A solicitation will be issued for 950 Pairs of Mittens, Flyer's, Anti-Exposure, Inflatable HAU-12/P. The corresponding National Stock Number: 8475-01-255-7484. As provided in MIL-M-81844C, dated 19 September 1986 and Notice 1 dated 16 July 1997, the HAU-12/P inflatable, anti-exposure, flyer's mittens are intended to be used to protect the hands of the wearer from exposure to cold water, wind and spray as a result of emergency ditching of an aircraft at sea. The mittens are intended to be used with anti-exposure coveralls. First Article Inspection is required and 3 Pairs of mittens shall be submitted and inspection shall be at the contractor?s facility. Production Lot Inspection is also required.
