Description
An Invitation For Bid in electronic format only will be available for download on or about February 19, 2008 on the Army Single Face to Industry (AFSI) website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asf/solicition-search-form.cfm Once the solicitation is p osted in AFSI, a link to the solicitation will be provided on this web site. No disks shall be mailed. Any resulting contract will be firm-fixed priced. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 237990, which has a size standard of $31 .0 million in average annual receipts. Joint ventures must be also registered in CCR as a joint venture. We advice contractors begin this process as soon as possible should they be the low bidder selected for the award. The solicitation shall be issued on a competitive sealed bid basis. The government shall not be responsible for bid preparation costs in the event the solicitation is canceled. The requirement for the submission of both performance and payment bonds, in an amount equivalent to 100% of t he award price and a bid guarantee for 20% of the bid price or $3,000,000, whichever is less shall be applicable. Therefore, successful firm shall have the capability to acquire such bonding. In addition a bid guarantee is also required. The Davis-Bacon Act will apply. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Kivalina Erosion Protection, Kivalina, Alaska. Construct at Kivalina, Alaska approximately 400 lineal feet of erosion protection (riprap revetment) as the base bid item and four 400 lineal foot sections of riprap re vetment as options (if awarded). Work also includes an Option item (if awarded) to place sand fill for emergency erosion protection. The construction of the revetment base item and options will also include demolition and disposal of the existing seawall . The revetment shall consist of a three layer system of various gradations and thicknesses of rock. The revetment shall also contain a layer of filter fabric over the in-situ bluff, beach, and fill material. Individual work items and estimated quantiti es are delineated in the bidding schedule. The Contractor is to conduct pre, interim, and post topographic surveys of the revetment and the area within the construction boundary at Kivalina. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, ma terials, permits, supervision, and other items necessary to accomplish the work. The Estimated Magnitude of Construction is more than $10,000,000.00.
