- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to initiate a best-value Request for Quotation (RFQ) for an overhaul of the Dredge McFARLANDs Starboard Inboard Main Engine. The engine is a 12-cylinder ALCO Model 251-C engine. The w ork to be performed will consist of opening, inspecting, cleaning, correcting abnormal conditions, and reassembly, as a result of foreign material contamination in the lube oil system of the Main Engine. All parts will be Government furnished. Upon compl etion of the work, the vessel will conduct dock and sea trials prior to delivery back to the Government. Work can begin as early as 18 February 2008, but no later than 04 March 2008, AND must be completed within 14 days, in accordance with the terms and c onditions of RFQ Number W912BU-08-T-0019. The acquisition will be solicited using the procurement process prescribed in Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Quotes will be reviewed for completeness in satisfying the requirements of the RFQ. T he quotes will be evaluated on their merit against the evaluation factors listed below: Technical: 1) Past Performance; (2) Contractor Availability and 3) Price Reasonableness. The technical factors as a whole are more important than price. However, pr ice remains a significant factor in determining the best value. Solicitation Number W912BU-08-T-0019 will be issued on or about 07 February 2008 with a due date of 13 February 2008. The NAICS Code is 811310 with a size standard of $6.5 million. The Soli citation will only be available via the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) homepage located at https://www.fedteds.gov. Registration for the Solicitation should be made via FedTeDS Internet homepage and hard copies will not be available. No writte n or fax requests will be accepted. All prospective contractors must be registered in FedTeDS before they will be permitted to download solicitation documents/information. Also, contractors who receive a federal contract of $25,000.00 are required by legislation (FAR 22.1310(b)) to submit an annual VETS-100 Report on your employment of targeted veterans.
