Description
1. Background Information Aberdeen Test Centers Experimental Fabrication Division (EFD) uses a wide array of material to include steel, aluminum, and armor plate to support the various testing efforts and construct equipment, armor packages, and fixtures. At present, each job is estimated and a purchase request is made for the material required to complete that specific job. Three different purchase requests are often created if there is a requirement for the three different materials mentioned above. This effort is repeated for every project that is completed by the EFD. 2. Goal: The goal of this request is to find the most effective means to create three long term contracts (one for aluminum, steel, and armor plate) to be us ed as a mechanism to provide material for projects without submitting numerous purchase requests throughout the year to accomplish the mission. Additionally, this request for information is to find methods to establish three separate long term contracts t o provide the ATC Experimental Fabrication Division with reasonable, price fluctuating material in a short time frame, with minimal effort from the buyer and seller. 3. Challenge: The challenge of these contracts will be finding a method to determi ne the pricing of material at the time of request. The pricing must be fair for both buyer and seller and this requires the ability of the pricing of material to fluctuate throughout the term of the contract based on the market value of the product. The material must be delivered to the ESD and payment must received by the seller in a reasonable time frame. 4.
