Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Davison Crane. Offerors are encouraged to access information also available on the NSWC Crane Division web site at http://www.crane.navy.mil/acquisition/homepage.htm The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division has a requirement for testing equipment used to calibrate and perform final acceptance testing of the MK-666 CWI Noise Measurement system. The MK-666 is used to verify performance of the MK-99 Fire Control shipboard radar system. A Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded. Delivery will be FOB Destination to NSWC Crane Division, Crane, Indiana 47522. Inspection and acceptance will be at source by DCMA personnel. This is a sole source to Omniphase Research Inc., Newport Beach California. Omniphase is the only source capable providing the modulators produced utilizing their proprietary design. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 20-days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. An RFP will be issued on or about 14 March 2008. Point of contact is Ms. Kelly Anderson, Code 0565ZD at (812) 854-3862, email kelly.anderson@navy.mil .
