- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, White River Junction., Vermont is seeking sources to provide installation, repair, and training for a cage washer thru wall unit. The feature must include the following: a wall barrier to prevent contamination from the dirty room to the clean room, automatic detergent dispensing, access panels and controls on the right side looking from the load side, controls must be OSHA approved type with emergency stop at both ends of the unit with safety interlocks on all access panels, fully automatic cycles with programmed and manual program options, a large offload platform with belt stop if cages backup on platform, automatic temperature regulation with wash and rinse programmable guarantee temperature with a temperature fault notification system which stops function until guarantee temperature of 181degrees Fahrenheit is reached, guaranteed fresh water final rinse, minimum size requirement for conveyor belt is 30 inch X 30 inch square cage cleaning, smallest door on the equipment path must be 30 inch wide and 82 inches high, exhaust fan for vapor removal, must be able to wash a variety of items used in animal care such as bottles, feeder bowls, cages, and bedding pans. The bedding dispenser needs to be on the off load side of the unit. The wash time should be approximately 3-5 minutes, have a dryer section, and be 3 phase with wiring for 208 volts and have easily accessible strainers. The unit will be installed, set up, and calibrated by the vendor, who must provide two full sets of manuals including operation, repair, and parts. Keys and passwords needed for repair need to be available. Repair services for unit must be available in the geographic area of the Department of Veterans Affairs in White River Junction, VT. Training for operation and service must be provided by the vendor. This notice is for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. This request is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation document is available and telephone inquiries will not be honored; however, interested parties may submit literature detailing how their services meet the VA requirements to the Contracting Officer. The Department of Veterans Affairs White River Junction Medical Center is the location where delivery would be made for the items. Responses received on or before 8:00 AM EST on February 15, 2008 will be considered. A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice will be solely at the discretion of the Government.
