- Description
- The High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office (HPCMP) is sponsoring a Performance Modeling and Prediction Workshop, to be held on 21-22 February 2008, in Lorton, VA. This workshop is to familiarize the HPC vendor community with the performance modeling methodology that is being considered for use in analysis and performance predictions in the upcoming TI-09 HPC procurement activity and to provide feedback to TI-08 HPC vendors on performance predictions for their systems. The workshop is constructed as a half-day general session on the morning of 21 February that will consist of a review of the performance prediction methodology and its potential uses in TI-09 evaluation, followed by individual sessions on the afternoon of 21 February and the morning of 22 February with TI-08 vendors and vendors interested in TI-09 to present individual TI-08 performance prediction data to vendors and further discuss the proposed TI-09 methodology. It is important that each HPC offeror that is interested in submitting a TI-09 proposal participate in the workshop, including the offeror's technical staff involved in benchmarking and performance modeling; this workshop will present a technical approach to performance modeling and provide offerors an opportunity to provide technical feedback on this approach. Note that eligible TI-09 offerors must be original equipment manufacturers who: (1) have offerings obtainable via existing GSA Contracts under Schedule 70 ?General Purpose Commercial Information Technology Equipment, Software, Services?; (2) have demonstrated success in large scale manufacturing, delivery and acceptance of commercially available, production HPC systems; and (3) have clearances allowing access to sensitive DoD technology and facilities. Potential offerors meeting the above criteria that are interested in attending the Performance Modeling and Prediction Workshop should contact Mrs. Deborah E. Joeckel, General Services Administration, no later than 8 February 2008. Please send an email to deborah.joeckel@gsa.gov, and provide the name of your company, a primary POC with email and phone number, and names of those targeted to attend. Each potential offeror should plan to send no more than three persons from their company. Participation in this workshop does not require a security clearance. A separate FedBiz announcement initiating the TI-09 acquisition will be published on or about 18 February 2008. The TI-09 Phase I RFQ will be released to pre-qualified offerors on or about 21 April 2008. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (08-FEB-2008); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
