- Description
- At the Wheeling Federal Building, 1125 Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV 26003, the contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials and equipment to perform all work required to abate asbestos from the following locations. All asbestos notated on the attached Asbestos Building Assessment date 7/25/90. Pages of this assessment to be included are pages 8-34, page 36, pages 41-48, page 59, and page 67. All assessment category codes are number 6(ACBM with potential for damage) except for page 16 which is code number 8 (No ACBM or suspect ACBM detected). The ceiling system referenced on page 16 will never the less be removed in its entirety as a part of this contract. All areas where asbestos pipe insulation is removed will be reinsulated with fiberglass insulation of equal thickness. The fiberglass will be factory covered with reinforced paper so as no fiberglass is exposed. Any fiberglass not covered due to installation parameters will be caulked in the field. All bends and joint fittings shall have a plastic shield over the insulation. Insulation proposals must be submitted and approved by the CO prior to any abatement work beginning. The floor referenced on page 17 will be cleared of carpet, floro tile and mastic, prepared for and coated with clear water based epoxy as a part os this project. The floors reference don pages 48 and 59 will be cleared of floor tile and mastic, prepared for and coated with clear water based epoxy as a part of this project. Also included in the project will be the abatement of lead based paint which is above the drop ceiling mentioned above and referenced on page 16. This ceiling shall be painted with a flat white latex after abatement as a part of this project.
