- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a competitive 8(a) solicitation for the acquisition of Warehouse Support Services. SSA is seeking a contractor to provide a variety of labor services to support the daily operations at two (2) warehouse locations in Baltimore, MD and Hanover, MD as well as management and operation services at two (2) virtual stores located at SSA Headquarters in Baltimore, MD. Each location may have different technical requirements, standards and workload. The contractor and contractor?s personnel shall abide by all state and local laws with regard to certification, specialized training and licensure required to operate motor vehicles, materials handling equipment, etc. The proposed contract is for a base period of 12 months with four 12-month options. Prospective offerors will be given an opportunity to do a walk through of the two warehouse facilities and to submit questions prior to the submission of proposals. The date of the walk through and submission date for questions will be addressed in the Request for Proposal package. This requirement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items, FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and FAR Subpart 19.8 Contracting with the Small Business Administration (The 8(a) Program). This requirement is being set aside 100% for 8(a) business concerns. In order to be eligible for contract award, the offeror must be an eligible participant in the 8(a) program by the closing date specified in the solicitation. The applicable The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) code and size standard are 493110 and $23.5 million. The solicitation (SSA-RFP-08-1028) will be available on the Fed Biz Ops (FBO) web page at http://www.fbo.gov on or about November 30, 2007. All parties interested in submitting an offer should download the solicitation from the FBO web site. No telephone or fax requests will be honored.
