Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for a bottom dump trailer. The specifications for Bottom Dump Trailer are listed below Type: Bottom dump, dual hopper, 2 axle design. Capacity: Minimum 20 cubic yards struck capacity. Rated Payload: 30 tons minimum, with a minimum Federal legal GVW of 80,000 lbs. Construction: 100/80 KSI yield strength all steel construction. Dimensions: " Length: Overall length of not more than 42 feet. " Width: Overall width of not more than 8 feet 6 inches. Axles: 2 each of 22,500 lbs capacity, minimum, with oil seals. Wheels: 24.5 x 8.25 inch minimum of steel disc construction, 9 each. Tires: Radial construction, 11R x 24.5 H rated minimum, 9 each. Brakes: Air brakes with Spring/Parking Brake, with brake chamber protector/rock deflector on front axle. Hub-O-Meter equipped. Hoppers: " Dual gates with double action air actuation, system lubricator and filter with a 60 gallon (minimum) capacity with external tank drains. 8 inch cylinders required. Gates to have mechanical stop, with windrow chains. " Dual dump openings of 64 inches x 84 inches, minimum. Lighting system: " ICC/DOT approved lighting system with rubber mounted lights and sealed harness system. " Mid-turn signal/clearance lights. Fenders: " Rear fenders with rubber mud flaps. " Front fenders. Spill cover: Spill cover over the top rear of the trailer. Push block. Landing legs: To be extendable, not mounted on the gates. Sideboard brackets: 8 inches minimum. 5th wheel: Side oscillating upper 5th wheel with rubber bushings. 51 inch (loaded) pin height. Severe service options to include: " Larger lower main frame rails. " Thicker hopper and end sheets. " Heavier brace tubes and brace tube mountings. " Special bolsters and bolster reinforcement from subframe. " Heavy duty suspension. " Heavy duty hoppers cross tubes. " Suspension riser. " Modified subframe and heavy duty rock guard.
