Description

U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Providence is giving notice of the intent to negotiate sole source with Fleming Steel Co. of New Castle, PA for the contract to provide repairs to the 41 foot high 150 foot wide, 4 leaf, motorized, unidirectional, sliding steel east hangar doors manufactured by Fleming Steel. Built in 1970-71 and installed when the hangar was originally constructed at USCG Air Station Cape Cod, Bourne, MA. A comprehensive report of deficiencies was conducted and recommended corrections will be required. The intent is to provide at least 20 more years of service life on the hangar doors. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by February 22, 2008. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the government. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
