- Correct Patient Privacy Deficiencies Malcom Randall VA Medical Center Gainesville, FL Presolicitation Notice Solicitation No.: VA-101-08-RP-0012 The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Offerors for the Correct Patient Privacy Deficiencies, VAMC Gainesville, FL. The firm must be a general construction firm with an approved 2002 NAICS code 236220 and have a bonding capacity of approximately $120 million. The firm must have experience with large hospital construction with contracts as a prime contractor in the $100 million range. This project consists of a new a 5 story patient bed tower of approximately 245,000 GSF with four floors of patient beds and the ground floor for supporting services. The base bid includes a fully-conditioned shell with a complete first, second, fourth, and fifth floors and the west half of the third floor. Alternate 1 includes build out of the east half of the third floor. The work is located a fully operational medical center that will remain open for use by visitors, patients and hospital staff during construction. The construction cost range is between $80,000,000 and $120,000,000. Goals for the subcontracting plan are as follows: 35% (SB), 10% (SDB) 6% (WOB), 3% (HUBZone), 7% (VOSB) and 3% (SCVOB). The contractor is responsible for acquiring and disposing of the sets. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for March 13, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Main Auditorium, Ground Floor, Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL. Sealed proposals are due to the Contracting Officer by April 30, 2008 3:00 pm EDT. There will be no public opening.
