- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repair to the USCGC ALDER (WLB-216). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 3 MARCH 2008. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option for automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited as Full and Open. The homeport of the vessel is DULUTH, MN. The Geographic restriction for this vessel is the Great Lakes. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be SEVENTY-FIVE (75) days with a start date on or about 9 JUNE 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for: (1) Clean and Inspect Chain Lockers, (2) Clean and Inspect Sea Bay, (3) Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks, (4) Relocate A/C ASE Overboard Discharge, (5) Clean and Inspect the Controllable Pitch Propeller System, (6) Preserve Freeboard, (7) Preserve Buoy Working Areas, (8) Renew Transducers and Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, (9) Preserve Weather Decks, (10) Preserve Underwater Body, (11) Resurface Shower Deck Covering, (12) Overhaul SORS Cargo Hatch Dogs, (13) Stern Tube Seawater Supply Modifications, (14) Overhaul Propulsion Shaft Seal Assembly, (15) Routine Dry-docking, (16) Renew Capastic Fairing, (17) Install Color Echo Sounder, (18) Provide Temporary Logistics, (19) Inspect Various Deck Fittings, (20) Inspect Thruster Units. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
