- Description
- Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 3, New York/New Jersey, is seeking sources to provide the following service: Provide day-to-day monitoring, management and troubleshooting including the installation of patches and application upgrades. Contractor will provide assistance to the VISN 3 Chief Information Office and Software Section in the design and construction of software and their integration into the VISTA database. Responsible for mumps software development, maintenance and trouble shooting throughout all VISN3 Medical Centers for all packages, modules, applications etc. This includes installing new software, modifying routines, enhancing or creating code and creating extracts to provide greater efficiencies, and general programming support. Researches job-specific functionality to assist users in determining methods of implementation and usage. Helps design and then implements plans for VistA modules. Under the direction of the CIO VISN 3, develops applications in MUMPS (including use of VA File Manager) to support VISN 3 initiatives and department programming projects. Analyzes the impact of modifications on existing software and hardware configurations throughout the VISN, especially as it relates to ongoing VistA Consolidation/Colocation issues. Need working knowledge of SQL server and WEB programming. Ensure adequate LAN/Internet, data, information, and system security relating to VistA system, Mumps environment in accordance with VA standards, operating procedures, conditions, laws, and regulations. Will follow all applicable VA policies and procedures governing information security, especially those that pertain to certification and accreditation. Contractors go thru VA IT Security Screening processes, coordinated between VA Human Resources Service and the VISN ISO. Contractor to complete VA Online Security Awareness Training for each year of the contract.
