Description
THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICIATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEM FOR MULTI-YEAR SEED COLLECTION ON THE SAWTOOTH NATIONAL FOREST. SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE POSTED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE SNYOPSIS. The solicitation for native seed collection site identification and mapping and subsequent native seed collection will occur on the Sawtooth National Forest, Minidoka Ranger District. Once seed collected from the Sawtooth National Forest, Minidoka Ranger District, is approved, it will be provided to the contractor for field preparation and sowing. Field preparation and sowing, harvest and collection of native materials produced from approved seed and maintenance of seed beds will occur off of Federal Lands. NAICS Code: 113210. Size Standard: $6.5 Million. The preferred period of performance for seed collection site identification and mapping and seed collection will be approximately from July 1, 2007 to October 31, 2009. The preferred period of performance for seed increase, which includes field preparation and sowing, harvest, cleaning, and storage, would begin following receipt of approved seed collected from Sawtooth National Forest. The estimated timing of the preferred period of performance would be from approximately April 1, 2008 to November 30, 2010. An allowable alternative would allow for field production of approved seed collected from the Sawtooth National Forest to begin in September 2007, if the approved quantity of native seed is collected in the first year of seed collection. Seed collection will occur on the Minidoka Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest including the Cassia Division, Black Pine Division, Raft River Division, Albion Division, and the Sublett Division. The Contractor's growing facilities must be located within Southwestern Idaho or Northwestern Utah (within a 150 mile radius of Burley, Idaho). See numbered note #1.
