Description
The Bureau of Indian Affairs is seeking potential Buy Indian, American Indian Own, Alaska Native Own, 8a firms, and Small Businesses Own contractors with the capabilities to conduct studies and prepare individual reports to determine the impact of lake level fluctuations on wetlands on Federal trust lands of the Passamaquoddy Indian Tribe and the Penobscot Indian Nation located within the project boundary of the West Grand Lake Project in regard to magnitude and timing of fluctuations. Specific emphasis will be on the effect of the medicinal plants, black ash, loons, muskrats, and the general size and extent of the wetlands. To determine the extent and magnitude of shoreline erosion on trust lands located within the project boundary of the West Grand lake Project and To determine the presence of non-native invasive plant species on trust lands located within the project boundary. The study will require the contractor to survey all trust lands and shorelines within the West Grand Lake Project boundary. The Bureau of Indian Affairs will provide location of trust lands with the contractor overlaying these lands over the project area. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, personnel, and equipment necessary to conduct such studies. Contractor personnel must be capable of navigating rugged, steep terrain. The response received from this posting will be used to compile a list of potential sources. Contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor's Registration (CCR). Contractors can register at www.ccr.gov. This is not a request for quotes, proposal, or invitation for bid. This posting's purpose is only to identify potential sources. The Government is in no way obligated to do business with or to enter into in any form of contract with any person, firm or other entity that receives this inquiry. The inquiry neither states nor implies that future contracts will be awarded to persons, firms, or other entities responding to this inquiry. However, there may be possibility for future business if/when the Government has a need for this service. All interested parties shall respond with a notice of interest and any other information relating to the government need, not later than March 15, 2008.
