- January 23, 2008 TO: Prospective Vendors SUBJECT: RFI # VA-528-08-RI-0073 Request for Information for a succession planning benchmark study/program. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain information in planning, designing, and implementing a benchmark study/program for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) succession planning programs for comparison with other leading government and private sector, hospital and non-hospital organizations. The VHA requires contract support to identify industry best practices, to provide an unbiased comparison of VHA to other leading private and public sector organizations, and to make recommendations for program improvements. Potential areas of focus include the identification of best practices in; employee recruitment and retention, leadership and workforce development, knowledge transfer and mobility, performance management, workforce planning, and diversity. These are suggested areas. A complete copy of the response to the request for information (RFI) must be returned, per the information below, by 3:00 PM EST, Thursday, March 20, 2008. Do NOT send copies to other individuals other than the Contracting Officer Jonathan Aikin. ONLY ELECTRONIC RESPONSES TO THIS RFI WILL BE ACCEPTED. Responses should be emailed to jonathan.aikin@va.gov. All responses must reference "Request for Information: Succession Planning Programs "in the subject line. Please note that this is NOT a competitive request for proposals or quotations, and no award will be made to any vendor as a direct result of this posting. This posting is strictly for market research purposes, and all information collected will be used as such. This notice does not commit the VA to the purchase or solicitation of equipment of any kind. If a respondent to this RFI produces more than one model of succession planning programs, the vendor shall submit one copy of the attached spreadsheet for EACH model in their response. Vendors may consolidate all submissions into one email. The Contract Specialist or other VA personnel may elect to contact vendors who have submitted responses to this RFI to clarify responses or request additional information. In the "Manufacturer/Vendor" line of the enclosed RFI response form, please provide a point of contact and phone number. Please limit responses to this solicitation to the information requested. Additional vendor inquiries, product documentation, etc. will not be collected or considered. These extras will be discarded before they are given to the Department of Veterans Affairs, and will not be opened or looked at. Additionally, vendors should not attempt to contact the VA via other means to provide information. Because of the nature of this RFI, vendors who submit responses may not hear anything back from the VA. Please do not re-send information.
