Description
A site visit at Camp Bondsteeel, Kosovo is scheduled for 17 March 2008. The purpose of the site visit is to allow potential offerors to see how the guard posts are set up, the facilities provided to guards, and the environment in which the gua rds will have to work. The site visit is scheduled for 1 day only, 17 March 2008. Vendors planning on making the site visit are hereby advised to consider the following prior to making any travel arrangements: 1. All travel arrangements to a nd from Kosovo are at the expense of the vendor, the Government will not reimburse any travel expenses. 2. There is currently a State Department travel ban to Kosovo in place from 10 Feb 08  10 Mar 08. There is no guarantee that this travel ban wi ll NOT be extended. Prior to departure, it is incumbent on vendors to check with the Wiesbaden Contracting Center to check if the travel ban has been extended. If the site visit has to be cancelled for any reason the Government will not reimburse vendors for any costs associated with cancelled travel arrangements. 3. The duration of the site visit is 1 day only. No more than 2 representatives from each firm shall be allowed to participate in the site visit. Vendors are requested to show up no la ter than 09:00 a.m. on the 17th of March 08 at the Main Access Gate at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo where they will be met by the following Government Representatives: Mr. Bradley Evans, Contracting Officers Representative (COR). Mr. Michael Michaelso n, Office of the Provost Marshal, US Army Europe. Offerors will be responsible for all transportation to and from the site and the Government will arrange for transportation on site. 4. Special Area Clearances are required: Firms interest ed in making the site visit must contact the below contract specialist by e-mail to obtain further information concerning Special Area Clearances. 5. The solicitation is expected to be posted to the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website and t he Wiesbaden Contracting Center (WCC) website) on or about 10 March 2008, if the solicitation is not released on or about this date, a DRAFT solicitation will be posted to both websites. 6. The site visit is not a pre-proposal conference. All questi ons pertaining to the solicitation must be addressed to the Contracting Officer. All pertinent questions and answers will be addressed as an amendment to the solicitation and posted to the ASI and WCC websites. The Government representatives at Camp Bondst eel will not address any contractual questions. 7.
