- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. IT IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR U.S. MILITARY / GOVERNMENT AGENCIES / OFFICES ONLY. Subject: Invitation to the Future Force Integration Directorate (FFID) Conference on Cognitive Research in Battle Command 1. The FFID will host a conference on Cognitive Research in Battle Command the week of 14 April at Fort Bliss, Texas. 2. The purpose of the conference is to bring together U.S. government / military offices and organizations conducting research or applying work in the cognitive domain of battle command and initially to establish an informal body for exchange of information. A formal body may be established at a later date if warranted. 3. Participation will enable cross agency / office u nderstanding of activities in the area of cognitive processes in battle command and allow a better understanding of the requirements for use of the Army Experimental Task Force (AETF) to gain data for related projects. The conference is restricted to U. S . military / government personnel and their funded representatives working in cognitive research. 4. Specific areas of interest for the conference are: a. Cognitive research in battle command from any service or agency / office. b. Application of cognitive research in a work, training, or experimental environment in battle command from any service or agency / office. c. The use of simulations in cognitive research, experiments, or applied work in battle command from any ser vice or agency / office. d. Measures of personnel cognitive abilities as related to battle command. 5. Participants at the conference are asked to present a 30 minute briefing to provide an overview of their completed or ongoing work in th e area of the cognitive domain of battle command. Participants will be asked to provide a draft of their intended briefing one week prior to the conference. The duration of the conference will be determined by the amount of participation. 6.
