- Description - The correct NAICS code is 518112, not the aforementioned 518210. FBO does not provide 518112 as an option. In accordance with FAR 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes Oct 1997, this is a combined Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Information. a- The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. b- Although ?proposal? and ?vendor? are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. All responsible businesses, including small businesses, are encouraged to respond to this RFI. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and neither constitutes a RFP, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This Sources Sought Synopsis is in support of a market survey being conducted by The Secretary of the Air Force for the Office of Warfighting Integration, Cyberspace Transformation (SAF/XCT), to determine potential sources capable of satisfying a requirement for consortia membership. Specifically, this membership must provide (1) unfettered access to the "bodies" that create and implement Structured Information Standards (SiS); (2) influential participation in the evolution of existing and the development of new standards necessary for successful cyber transformation; (3) access to industry partners, and their lessons learned, who are implementing or have implemented SiS and SiS technologies we intend on deploying; and (4) a formal venue to socialize and harmonize Air Force cyber transformation initiatives with industry partners across the globe and their initiatives--the membership must satisfy all four of these conditions. Categories of standards for which the aforementioned four conditions must be satisfied include, as a minimum, e-commerce, security, computing management, Extensible Markup Language (XML) processing conformance/ interoperability, and industry domains Examples of standards within these categories include, as a minimum, customer information quality, DocBook, Darwin Information Typing Architecture, OpenDocument, Security Assertion Markup Language, Solution Deployment Discriptor, Service Provisioning Markup Language, web services distributed management, eXtensible Resource Identifier (XRI), and XRI Data Interchange. Period of Performance: Base Year ?1 Mar 08 through 28 Feb 09 with (4) one year options. Potential sources should include their size status for NAICS code 518112.All packages must be electronically received by 12:00 Noon EST 27 February 2008,to
