- The Great Plains Regional Contracting Office (GPRCO) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas intends to award a contract for medical supplies for the Darnall Army Medical Center (DAMC), Fort Hood, TX. Contractor shall provide the Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therap y (ESWT) unit, to include the operator (i.e., Certified Radiology Technician), when requested by the podiatrist who will perform Shock Wave Treatment (medical procedure) on patients afflicted with Plantar Fasciitis. The shock wave therapy unit must be Bra nd Name or Equal. The Epos Ultra unit is manufactured by Dornier MedTech (Brand Name). An or equal ESWT unit offered in lieu of the Brand Name shall meet the following salient characteristics: [TECHNICAL DATA MAIN MODULE: Footprint (l x w): 37 x 24 ; Height: 43 ; Weight: 275 lbs.; Power Supply: 100 125/200-240 V 1000 VA; +/-10% 50/60 Hz; Shock Source: Dornier EMSE 0-80. SHOCK WAVE DATA: Principle: Electromagnetic; Aperture: 5.5 ; Aperture Angle: 82 degrees; Energy Flux Density ED (mJ/mm2): 0. 13 1.0; Effective Energy E(12 mm) (mJ): 3.8 27.3; Focal Pressure (MPa): 7.4 55.7; Focal Dimension: 0.3 1.7 ; Penetration Depth: 3 ; Shocks/Minute: 60 240]. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.211-6, Brand Name or equal, applies to this requirement. FOB is Destination Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX (Podiatry Clinic). This procurement will result in an issuance of a Purchase Order contract award based on offer(s) that are lowest priced and technically acceptable (LP TA). The contract performance period will be AWARD DATE to 30 September 2008 with 3 1-year option peroids through September 2010. The NAICS code for this procurement is 532490 and the Small Business Size Standard is $6.5 million. The RFP will be issued on or about 29 February 2008 and will be available at https://acquisition.army.mil.asfi/gov_personnel_main.cfm. This acquisition will be processed under the commercial item procedures of FAR Part 12.
