- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Central Region, CR Minerals Team has a requirement to acquire services to improve mineral resource assessment procedures and subsequently conduct an update of the National Mineral Resource Assessment. The contractor shall have an advanced research background on a wide array of uranium deposit types. Contractor shall have experience relative to potential geoenvironmental issues associated with uranium deposits. In order to foster utilization of geologic systems concepts to development of uranium deposits models contractor shall have particular technical and place-based expertise associated with a wide array of geologic environments and genesis of diverse mineral deposits types, including: unconformity, sandstone, and volcanogenic uranium; Blackbird type Co-Ni; porphyry Cu-Mo and related types; polymetallic veins, and bonanza-grade epithermal Au-Ag veins. Contractor shall demonstrate current mastery of the required methodology, knowledge and expertise relative to the mineral resource assessment methodology employed by the USGS Mineral Resources program, with practical experience, including knowledge of the distribution of such deposits (and their associated mine dumps, mill tailing and mine drainage) and their actual or potential impact of specific watersheds. Five to ten per-reviewed presentations and publications on each of these subjects are required (with listings of current knowledge and publications). Offerers shall demonstrate having been sought out as an expert advisor on related subjects submission of at least three references (along with name of contact and telephone number). The USGS considers this specified requirement as a sole source to J Thomas Nash, Las Vegas, NM. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services at the same cost may submit a capabilities statement to the contracting officer USGS, PO Box 25046 Denver Federal Center, Denver, CO 80225-0046 no later than the closing date of this requirement 03/12/2008 5:00PM MST. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist, if no submissions are received by the above appointed time, the Government will proceed with noncompetitive award without further notice. This is NOT a Request for Quote (RFQ); the Government does not anticipate issuing a written solicitation. This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-04, effective 08 June 2005. No number notes apply.
