- Description
- AIR FORCE/INDUSTRY SPACE TECHNOLOGY INTERCHANGE WORKSHOP FOR INDEPENDENT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (IR&D) AND SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR) TRANSITION SUPPORT COMMERCIALIZATION PILOT PROGRAM (CPP). The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) plan to conduct a space technology interchange workshop on Monday, 14 April 2008 at the Long Beach Marriott, 4700 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach, CA 90815, 562-425-5210, Fax: 562-425-2744. This workshop is intended to facilitate the dialogue between the Air Force and Industry on addressing SMC technology needs, AFRL technology development responses to those needs, how AF IR&D and SBIR programs can help fill those needs and how industry can play an integral role in potential partnering. Please note that this AF IR&D and SBIR CPP workshop is being held at the same venue as the SMC Industry Days symposium planned for 15-17 April 2008. This workshop is not intended to supersede or conflict with any part of the SMC symposium. This AFRL workshop will be composed of two parts occurring on 14 April; a Plenary Session in the morning, and an afternoon track of SBIR CPP One-on-One sessions. Please note that there will not be an afternoon track for IR&D Questions and Answers Sessions, as conducted in April 2007. The Plenary Session will consist of briefings from SMC and AFRL, focused Air Force near- and mid-term space technology needs. Following this overview, the AF will facilitate private one-on-one sessions between prime contractors and small businesses to address specific SBIR projects with relevance to major contractors work. Twenty minutes will be allotted to each qualifying company interested in the SBIR one-on-one sessions. Please note small businesses attendance is by invitation only. This announcement is an expression of interest only and does not obligate the government in any way. Response to this request is voluntary and will not impact any future acquisitions. RESPONSE: Please respond to the relevant POC below within 5 days of the publication of this announcement with intent to attend the workshop. Include in your response a copy of your DD Form 2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement. RESTRICTIONS: These meetings are unclassified and only open to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contractors. To participate as an attendee, you must be a DoD employee or DoD contractor with a valid DD Form 2345. LIMITATIONS: Due to resource constraints, we anticipate selection of a limited group of companies to participate in these SBIR CPP sessions.
