Description

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) Huntsville AL intends to award a sole source follow-on Contract for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for the ongoing and in-progress effort of support relative to O&M for the part iculate radionuclide detectors located in Charlottesville VA, Melbourne FL, Sacramento CA, Sand Point AK, Palmer Station Antarctica, Ashland KS, Salchaket AK, Wake Island, Midway Island, Oahu HI, and Upi Guam. Additional O&M activities will include radioxe non detectors co-located in Charlottesville VA, Ashland KS, Sacramento CA, and Oahu HI. Thus, successful worldwide verification of nuclear weapons testing requires that Nuclear Explosion Monitoring (NEM) system must have not only the capability to detect a nd quantify the nuclear explosion products, but also the ruggedness and ease of use to operate reliably with minimum demands for operator support and maintenance in these diverse locations. This is not a formal solicitation. The synopsis of intent to iss ue a sole source award to General Dynamics in Rosslyn, VA is not a request for proposal/offers. General Dynamics is the exclusive source. The Government has not acquired a Technical Data Package. Contractors who believe they can provide the U.S. Army Sp ace and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville with the above services, as specified above are invited to submit in writing, an affirmative response which includes, as a minimum, the capability to do the work and evidence of experience, any applicable pricin g data, and any information indicating a bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis, and all such responses will be considered by the agency. Reference Note 22, the 30 day period for submitti ng responses is not applicable, the agency is only required to issue a 15 day notice and will control the issuance of the solicitation to the contractor. If no written responses are received within 15 calendar days, a sole source award will be issued. Re sponses should be submitted via email to Dianne Trimble, dianne.trimble@smdc.army.mil.
