- The U.S. Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA is procuring FIRE EXTINGUISHER MAINTENANCE SERVICES to be performed at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. The contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision to conduct inspections, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, recharging and hydrostatically testing approximately 661 extinguishers at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The Coast Guard Academy has the following types of extinguishers that shall be maintained water, air pressure stainless steel, 2 ? gallon 100 pound pressure, Bi-Carb, Carbon Dioxide (CO2), DryChem, All Purpose A-B-C-, Foam , Purple K, Air Pressurized (PKP), and Potassium Types. The solicitation will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A firm-fixed price services type contract will be awarded to responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the government, price and technical information. The Base Period of performance will be from 01 April 2008 through 31 March 2009 with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government, for total contract duration not to exceed 5 years/60 months. This requirement will be issued as a small business set aside. The applicable NAICS Code is 561210 (Facilities Support Services) with a size standard of $32.5 million. Interested parties must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as prescribed in FAR Clause 52.232-33. Any correspondence concerning this acquisition shall reference Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number HSCG84-08-Q-AA1244. The solicitation, and any subsequent amendments, will be available electronically on the Federal Business Opportunity Website at www.fbo.gov on or about 28 February 2008 with a closing date for receipt of quotes by 12 March 2008. No paper copies of the solicitation and/or amendments will be distributed. All vendors will be responsible for obtaining the solicitation and any subsequent amendments from that site.
