- SYNOPSIS - - - SYNOPSIS - - - The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, 75051-2412 plans to issue Invitation For Bids (IFB) WAS-0449 to replace the boiler stack at the Federal Correctional Institution Waseca located at 1000 University Drive SW, Waseca, MN, 56093-0741. The facility is a federal penal institution set in a rural farm community and is approximately 70 miles Southwest of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area with easy driving distance to Mankato, MN. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and tools to perform the work in accordance with the specifications and drawings provided in the solicitation. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The solicitation will be available on or about December 27, 2007 with an anticipated bid opening date of January 31, 2008. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fbo.gov/. This requirement will be accessible to those companies deemed eligible by the information they provided when they register with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) web site http://www.ccr.gov/ and the Online Represetations and Certfications Application (ORCA) web site http://www/bpn.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments and other general information, will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. Bids, performance, and payment bonds as well as residency requirements are applicable to this proposed contract action. All interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have up-to-date information about this acquisition and are encouraged to monitor and register their company on the Interested Vendor List (IVL). This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside - See Number Note 1. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220 with a small business size standard of $13.0 million average annual receipts for the preceding three fiscal years.
