- Description
- The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is seeking offers for the wrought iron fence stabilization at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, located at 2 East 91st Street, New York, NY. All responsible businesses are encouraged to submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Smithsonian Institution. The project includes the stabilization of existing wrought iron fence at the perimeter of the property, including the abatement of lead-containing paint, the repointing and restoration and cleaning of all masonry surfaces of the fence, and creation of a new service entrance at the existing service gates on 90th Street, including the installation of a new slab on grade. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will consist of two parts. Part 1: Technical Proposal in which the Offerors establish their qualifications in accordance with the following Evaluation Standards: (1) Firm's Past Experience (Historic Preservation Experience, Metal and Masonry Restoration); (2) Hazardous Material Abatement Experience (Lead Based Paint Abatement); (3) Organization, Key Personnel & Subcontractor Identification; and (4) Plan of Accomplishment and Contract Time. Part 2: Schedule of Values and Contract Price. The Estimated Price Range for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 (Base plus Options). Contractor must be registered in the Central Contract Registration (CCR) prior to award. Registration may be accomplished at www.ccr2000.com/index.cfm or 1-888-CCR-2423. Period of Performance is 240 calendar days from date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Issuance o/a November 16, 2007; receipt of proposals December 18, 2007.
