Description
The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) Huntsville AL intends to award a sole source follow-on Contract for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for the ongoing and in-progress effort of support relative to O&M for the infr asound, seismic, and auxiliary seismic detector systems located in Fairbanks AK, Windless Bight, Antarctica, Newport, WA, Pinon Flat, CA, Hawaii, HI, Mina, NV, Tuckaleechee Caverns, TN, Yreka, CA, Kodiak, AK, and Elko, NV. Thus, successful worldwide veri fication of nuclear weapons testing requires that Nuclear Explosion Monitoring (NEM) system must have not only the capability to detect and quantify the nuclear explosion products, but also the ruggedness and ease of use to operate reliably with minimum de mands for operator support and maintenance in these diverse locations. The government does not own these sensors, and one of the sensors must continue to be located on University of Alaska property. This is not a formal solicitation. The synopsis of intent to issue a sole source award to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks is not a request for proposal/offers. The University of Alaska, Fairbanks is the exclusive source. The Government has not acquired a Technical Data Package. Contractors who believe they c an provide the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville with the above services, as specified above are invited to submit in writing, an affirmative response which includes, as a minimum, the capability to do the work and evidence of experie nce, any applicable pricing data, and any information indicating a bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis, and all such responses will be considered by the agency. Reference Note 22, the 30 day period for submitting responses is not applicable, the agency is only required to issue a 15 day notice and will control the issuance of the solicitation to the contractor. If no written responses are received within 15 calendar days, a sole source aw ard will be issued. Responses should be submitted via email to Dianne Trimble, dianne.trimble@smdc.army.mil.
