- The U.S. Geological Survey, Central Region, Geographic Information Office, NSDI PO (Kansas) located at 4821 Quail Crest Place, Lawrence, KS 66049 has a requirement to acquire non-competitive procurement to the City of Wichita Public Works for digital Ortho-imagery and LIDAR elevation data covering the Wichita Urban Area, surrounding Sedgwick County, and part of Butler County Approximately 1,037 square miles) in 2008. This USGS project will leverage the City of Wichita Public Works, 1144 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS existing contract award. Orthorectified digital imagery will be acquired for 1,037 square miles as 6 inch and 1 foot resolution natural color, meeting NSSDA horizontal accuracy standards for 1:1,200 scale mapping for 6 inch resolution, and 1:2,400 scale mapping for 1 foot resolution. USGS The LIDAR elevation data will be acquired at a ground sample distance of 2 feet and 5 feet, meeting NSSDA vertical accuracy for 1 ft and 2 ft contours at the previously mentioned scales. Products will include a LIDAR bare-earth DTM, first return DEM, last return DEM, and intensity image data. Imagery and LIDAR will be collected in March 2008 and shall be delivered to the City of Wichita in August 2008 - October 2008. The USGS will contribute 25% of the total cost of the LIDAR elevation data. The anticipated delivery date to USGS is October 2008 - December 2008. The total coverage for the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County is 1,037 square miles. The USGS will contribute 33% of the total cost for the ortho imagery project. The value of obtaining this data through the existing Wichita contract is very cost beneficial to the USGS. This imagery acquisition is providing current data for Homeland Security community at less than one-quarter the cost, of collecting the data under a USGS contract. The USGS will have unlimited data rights to be used in the National Map as a result of this contract. The U.S. Geological Survey considers this specified requirement as a sole source to the City of Wichita Public Works. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services may submit a capabilities statement to the contracting officer USGS, PO Box 25046 Denver Federal Center, Denver, CO 80225-0046 Attn: Gail Walker no later than the closing date of this requirement (03/10/08) 3:00 PM MST. All submissions shall be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist; if no submissions are received by the above appointed time, the Government shall proceed with noncompetitive award without further notice. This is NOT a Request for Quote (RFQ); the Government does not anticipate issuing a written solicitation. This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-22, effective 08 June 2005. No number notes apply.
