- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Applera dba Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA 94404, pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 ( C ) (1)? Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for maintenance contracts on the following items: 1)1 each- Voyager DE STR, serial # 4159, AB Assurance 1PM, period of service 3/1/08-2/28/09; 2)1 each- API3000, serial # D6220006, AB Assurance 2PM, period of service 3/1/08-2/28/09; 3)1 each- API3000, serial # D9440109, AB Assurance 2PM, period of service 12/06/07-2/28/09; 4)1 each- 4700 Proteomics Analyzer, serial # 347000037, AB Assurance 2PM, period of service 3/7/08-2/28/09. Engineers at Applied Biosystems designed these instruments thereby requiring their trained specialist to service their equipment. Any firm believing itself capable of providing these services may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 7 days of date of notice to Valarie Sims at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet this requirement. Responses shall also included itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 7 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Applera dba Applied Biosystems. The NAICS Cose/Size is 811219/6.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of 100,000.
