Description
THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT; THIS IS A POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The purpose of this notice is to obtain Market Research to determine the availability and adequacy of potential business sources to support acquisit ion of these requirements using a competitive Request for Sealed Bid. For the purposes of this Sources Sought, please reference RFP W912CF-08-B-9999. REQUIREMENT: Offerors must have a positive, proven track record in the industry and reputation for completing work within the negotiated schedule, scope, and cost for installing complex fire alarm systems. OFFERORS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS TO SUBMIT A SEALED BID FOR FIRE ALARM SYMES SOLICITED AT FORT MONMOUTH. The U. S. Government adopted the NFPA Codes years ago as their Codes and base Fire Protection and Prevention Systems on them. By referencing an NFPA Code, it implies that the U.S. Government is stating how a system is to be designed, installed, tested, maintained and how it will function. NICET LEVEL III for the system designer. NICET LEVEL II for the system installation. Proof MUST BE PROVIDED with your bid that the contractor is Qualified in the installation, inspection, and testing of fire a larm systems as per the requirements stated in NFPA 72. The authority having jurisdiction has the right to require evidence that the contractor is: 1. Factory trained and certified on the equipment they are installing. 2. Certified by a nationall y recognized fire alarm certification organization. 3. Registered, Licensed, and Certified by a state or local authority to install fire alarm systems. NFPA 72 is proof that the contractor has obtained certification from the state where they are licensed to install fire alarm systems on Fort Monmouth which is subject to approval by the authority having jurisdiction. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids and is not to be construed as a commitment by Fort Monmouth. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their interest, capability (personnel, facility, equip ment, schedule slots, and materials) and ability to meet all requirements stated above. Firms responding to this notice must identify their companys capabilities to perform the requirements described herein and indicate their business clas sification for NAICS code: 238210: i.e.; Large Business, Small Business, HUB Zone, 8a, SDVOB, Woman Owned Business. etc. The information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to cond uct a competitive procurement. A determination by Fort Monmouth not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this sources sought synopsis, is solely within the discretion of Fort Monmouth. Fort Monmouth does not intend to p ay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract will be awarded in 2008.
