- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to award a contract as a result of this request for information. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has a future requirement to provide mobile canteen services to all NUWCDIVNPT and contractor employees, in return, the vendor agrees to remit an agreed to sum every month to the designated Non-Appropriated Fund Activity (NAFI). This acquisition is Set-Aside 100% for Small Business Concerns, the NAICS code is 722330 (Size Standard: $6.5 mil). The length of the award shall be for a period of one year with four (4) one year option periods. The expected start date is 01 Oct 2008. The services are required Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM. All prepared foods provided by the vendor must be procured from an "approved food source" in accordance with the requirements of the "U.S. Army Veterinary Command." If you intend to buy your prepared food from a not yet approved vendor, you must submit a "Sanitation Audit Request" prior to the closing date of our formal Government solicitation. A list of the current approved food sources and instructions on submitting an initial Sanitation Audit Request is provided at http://vets.amedd.army.mil/vetcom/ [The following may help navigate this web site: In left column, click on "Approved Food Sources", in the center of the page click on United States including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, the Caribbean Area and South America Directory, in the center of the page click on Appendix B - Initial Sanitation Audit Requests.] Within this Appendix B, "supplier" means the one who actually prepares the food initially. Award of this concession contract will NOT be made to a vendor who intends to procure its prepared foods from a non-approved vendor. A formal Government solicitation document which will provide additional information regarding these services is being developed and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All interested sources are encouraged to respond to this synopsis and to identify their qualifications and experience no later than 21 March 2008.
