- Description
- The USPS is issuing a Request For Information (RFI) for Long Life Vehicle (LLV) Frames. The USPS currently plans to keep the LLV fleet in operation beyond 2018. A significant number of LLVs, particularly those located in the Snow Belt and coastal areas, are exhibiting signs of heavy corrosion in several places along the steel frame. Numerous frames have already been replaced or are scheduled for replacement due to irreversible corrosion. It is currently estimated that the USPS will have a need for approximately 8,000 replacement frames in the next five years. The objectives are stated in the RFI document which can be downloaded on www.fedbizopps.gov. No telephone inquiries will be entertained. All questions or requests for clarification must be in writing to Kathleen Burt via e-mail at kathleen.burt@usps.gov , fax at (215) 931-5154 or regular mail. The RFI is due by close of business March 21, 2008. The Postal Service does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to pay for the information solicited.
