Description

The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The intended source is MXL Industries Inc., 1764 Rohrerstown Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601-1232. The Notched Lens for the M48 Apache Aviator NBC Protective Mask is a lens that has specific interface requirements with the Apache Helicopter heads-up display and fire control system. The lens provides airflow over the aviators eyes to pr event fogging and has stringent chemical warfare agent resistance requirements. MXL is the only known source to produce and deliver the M48 Notched Eyelens to the Government. A Government Technical Data Package (TDP) for the M48 Notched Eyelens is not av ailable for competitive acquisition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. FOB is Destination. Estimated issue date is November, 13, 2007. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance wi th FAR 4.501, 5.102 (2) (7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: http://aais.ria.army.mil. CAUTION: T he solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to period ically access the above internet address in order to obtain and said amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for the bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (25-OCT-2007).
